Shaken, not stirred
Yesterday after viewing "I, Robot" the Sarcas-family got to discussing the news that Pierce Brosnan may be chatting up his last Bond Girl. We tried to come up with the next 007. Some one suave , sophisticated, who looks good in a tuxedo and can be convincingly British. We ran through every Brit, Australian, American actor we could think of. Nada. They were too young ,too old, too silly, too much of a bad boy. Sarcasmo did proffer that 007 could be a woman. She's right. It's only a number (and a license to kill).
What do you think? Is there a cinematic hunk who can perpetuate the legacy? Should it be someone new? Should we switch gears and have a woman in the role? And should she hit on Miss Moneypenny?

Like a drive- in only without the car
Local radio station WOGL 98.1 is showing movies in the park at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken. Tonight's feature is Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory. Did you know this classic starring Gene Wilder is being remade with Johnny Depp in the title role? Sarcasmo has an interesting tidbit about the Tim Burton re-make on her site. Check it out.

Long distance
The only part to becoming a grandparent I don't like is that most of the Sarcas-family will be seperated from the new baby by many miles and the Pacific ocean. Even that distance pales in comparison to this.

Absenteeism
The random thoughts that pop into my head are often without context to my surroundings or activity of the moment. This morning, in those few moments you have between your mind waking up and your eyes opening, it occurred to me that Sarcas-Dad and I would not be here on election day. I told you I have random thoughts. I am actually most eloquent when I am first awake or falling asleep. If I kept the computer bedside my blog would probably be much more interesting. I'm pretty witty when I'm driving alone too. If I could just get the words in my head out onto "paper" you would be astounded at my ability to turn a phrase. But, back to the point of this post.
I always vote. Even when there is no major office being decided. However, had I found during a past election that I would be out of the country I don't think I would have been too concerned about skipping it. Not this time. I have to vote for "Not Bush".Usually I am pretty ambivilent when it comes to politics butI cannot ignore the current administration and their agenda.
I have to find out how to file am absentee ballot.

Power to the Barristas
A Starbucks location in New York has made a bid to unionize. I see it as one small step towards world domination. Can you see it now? Starbucks on strike! Legions of caffeine deprived people trying to get through the day without their daily fix. The mid-afternoon slump becomes a national epidemic without iced lattes to zap us into action. We will be a nation in withdrawal.
